Rivers.gov is managed by the Interagency Wild & Scenic Rivers Coordinating Council, consisting of the four primary federal agencies charged with protecting and managing the nation’s wild and scenic rivers. This website contains many resources about wild and scenic rivers. NOTE: Many publications on this website specifically apply to Wild and Scenic rivers on federal lands. Rules and standards differ between rivers on federal lands and those managed under a Partnership approach, like the Housatonic Wild and Scenic River.
